"Vehicle Extrication: New Vehicle Technology"
8-hour New Technology Course (6-hour lecture and limited 2-hour practical)
Members of the Providence RI FD Special Hazards company along with firefighters from all over New England learnt about the various advancements in vehicle safety systems, innovative vehicles (Pure Electric, Hybrid and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology) and alternative extrication techniques developed by Extrication.Com.
Fox Toyota brought a Toyota Prius Hybrid to re-enforce the hybrid lecture. Special thanks to Captain John Healey (house captain) and duty firefighters at Station-13 Allens Avenue Station

Providence Fire Logistics Officer for the
extrication program was Station-13's House Captain John Healey.
Providence RI Fire Department members from the
Special Hazard's Heavy Rescue Truck (in yellow bunker gear) were part of the
5-member team that executed Extrication.Com's Modified Dash Roll to this
vehicle.
Firefighter using the extra large Holmatro hooked
cutters to sever the top rail separating the dash from the front sub-assembly.
Firefighter severing windshield pillar to
separate the dash from the roof to perform the Modified Dash Roll.
As the firefighter cut the section out of the
windshield pillar another controlled the fall of the cut member with a tether.
The Modified Dash Roll can be executed within 4-6 minutes.
