GlasMaster Saw (Automotive Glass Saw)
The GlasMaster Saw is the best manual glass hand saw on the market. The GlasMaster is often copied, however there is no comparison to this saw and the look-a-likes. The GlasMaster is relatively inexpensive especially when compared to power or pneumatic saws.
Seldom will the blade require replacing, even as the teeth become rounded the blade will still cut. The tool is easily to use and quickly cuts both laminated windshield glass and Enhance Protective Glass (EPG) used on side and rear windows.
The GlasMaster tool can be used to break tempered safety glass with the built-in spiked handle or with the spring loaded center punch stored in the forward handle and is provided with the tool. Personnel can quickly master the GlasMaster within a minimum of training.
Safety Note: Extrication.Com does not advocate the use of fold down helmet shields for motor vehicle extrication. It is our opinion that these offer little if any eye protection from glass and metal fragments common in vehicle rescue. Instead responders should use safety glasses to protect their eyes, especially when clearing vehicle glazing and metal filings.
